Lovely spacious house with large garden which the kids loved. Plenty of room for a family of 9.

Wyvill House is an excellent property, very spacious and clean with every convenience you may need. Bedrooms are large, except for the single but that is adequate, and beds are comfortable. The garden is perfect, large with outdoor furniture and safe for small children. The house is in a great location, close to Scarborough, Filey, Whitby and Bridlington so plenty of places to visit and things to do. So good, we hope to return next year!

Fabulous house for a large group. We had plenty of space for myself, my husband, our daughters their husbands and three grandchildren age 7 mths, 21 mths and 3 years. The house was extremely clean and stylish, with 2 lounges, one we used for the children and their toys. The massive lawned area in the garden is an added bonus for children to run off excess energy and play games. Very well positioned to easily visit Scarborough or Filey and get to further afield Whitby, Bridlington, Pickering or Flamborough Head. The only improvements for this accommodation would be a manual on how things work, bin days, recycling etc improvements to the upstairs showers and improved wifi, as we struggled unless in the kitchen. Also, although there is a TV in every room there is only freeview and we couldn't get catchup TV to work so just had to watch what was on, which isn't always ideal for young children. However, we had an amazing week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The accommodation was very clean and spacious. And very well equipped. The grandchildren loved the garden. The house is well positioned to access the moors, Scarborough, Filey and Cayton bay beach. It could do with an information pack to help with equipment ie jaquzzi as we could not turn it on.

We stayed over Christmas and had the best Christmas we have had in a long time. An excellent base to visit different places but also a lovely house you are happy to stay in. It was even nicer in person than in the pictures. Really clean, warm and inviting. More than enough room for 7 adults, 1 teen and 1 child. Owners were also really helpful. 1010 would recommend. We are booking for next Xmas!

A wonderful property with plenty of space for our party of seven. We enjoyed having the two lounge spaces and the children enjoyed the games machine and the netball hoop. A very clean and cosy house. A welcome pack was provided which meant an excellent start to the holiday. We had an issue with not being able to open a bedroom door and the owner answered the phone straightaway and resolved the issue. A fantastic property.

Lovely spacious property. Very clean just not much thought but into maintening or providing instructions for everything the main problem was the downside toilet I noticed it's been reported before on other reviews it slowly leaks out and at times makes the floor too slippery too walk on. Also another thing that as been reported before is the upstairs main bathroom needs a shower screencurtain as once again makes the floor too slippery and the toilet gets soaked. The other bathroom ensuite needs a slightly bigger sink way too small to use. The property needs clear instructions to use things etc.. the heating, cooker and other appliances. But the owners will help provide this over the phone. Would be better written down though so we don't have to keep calling them for each item. But besides all that we really enjoyed our stay. And not forgetting better instructions on finding the property as it is truly hidden away from the road

Lovely house with large gardens which were perf ect for our 3 young grandchildren. The games room in the garden was also a big favourite. The house was furnished to a good standard and had plenty of space for our party of 9. The owner of the property was very helpful if we needed anything.

Delighted with size, layout, facilities & decor of this super modern house. Ideal size for big family group of 8 from 880yrs incl disabled. Loved house garden and location. Regrettably some points of disappointment many on reflection mentioned in previous reviews. There was no house instruction manual. On arrival both W. Bins were totally full, no plastic bin liners & owner away until Monday! On using the ensuite shower to main bedroom water overflowed, result 1st morning spent purchasing bin bags and removal of all filth and hair from shower drain trap not a holiday job! Wifi limited to kitchen. Single BR light switch did not work? Remote TV for main sitting room no batteries found alternative in drawer! Did not use curtains in L Room as pole looks to need repair. TV in double B Room on Rt of stairs flashes in night no way to disable! Maintenance IS needed.

A beautiful, spacious property with a large garden. It is very well situated for travel to a range of places. The house provided a quiet and comfortable holiday for the three generations of our family. The welcome pack was much appreciated.

LOVED STAYING IN THIS BEAUTIFUL BIG HOUSE. VERY WELL EQUIPED AND PLENTY OF CUPBOARD SPACE.COMFY BEDS AND INTERIOR. VERY PEACEFUL AND QUIET WITH THE PUB VERY CLOSE AND EXCELLENT FOOD SERVED.ALL EASILY WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE.CANNOT FAULT THE HOUSE AND WILL HAPPILY RETURN HOPEFULLY NEXT YEAR.SEPERATE CABIN HOUSING THE ARCADE MACHINE WAS REALLY GOOD.

The property was fantastic, very clean, and modern throughout! The garden wraps around 3 sides of the house and was well maintained. Having a pub literally 30 second walk away was very handy! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay though we have 3 very very minor pieces of feedback. 1 The Hot water It wasn't until day 2 that we realised we had to boost the hot water in advance of having a shower otherwise the water was lukewarm at best 2 The shower in the main bathroom upstairs above the bath would benefit from a shower curtain of some sort as it is easy to end up getting water over the floor. 3 The bedroom on the left as you go up the stairs, the clock in the mirror is so bright on a night, it ended up having to be covered up. It is a shame there was no way to turn it off. Again, these are just 3 very minor things but we would 100 stay here again! Thank you!

Lovely property, the house was very clean. The beds were very comfortable, there was a television in every room. I have never seen so much storage space in a house, every bedroom had loads of cupboard space and plenty of coat hangers. I don't cook on holiday but there seemed to be plenty of equipment in the kitchen if you wanted to. Large back garden for children to play in. Some good golf courses nearby, Filey was our favourite. Would definitely recommend this property.

Wyvill House far exceeded my expectations, the House is beautiful and the bedrooms were bigger than I thought. The photographs of the property do not do it justice, plenty of room for my family of 6 adults 2 children and 1 infant.

In general a absolute joy to stay at. clean comfortable and spacious, impressive layout if we were to point out any problem it would be the dodgy switch for putting the main oven on but we got there in the end all in all a lovely stay would definitely book again a thumbs up from all the family.

The house was beautifull. Everything you would have in your own house and even more. The welcome food was much appreciated. It was do quiet an idyllic but not far from scarbough itself. If you are into golf, there are plenty of golf courses and south view golf club restaurant was great.

The holiday home is a lovely place, well kept,we only had one problem of drainage and notified the owner who had it sorted early next day with no disturbance to us. Great for family get together.The only thing the wife and I didn't like was where the property was in regards to a pub with anything going on.Theres a pub basically one minute away but it had nothing to attract us.Karaoke down the road only about a mile away but just on the one night a week and cost above a10 for that mile trip each way,a little too much we thought.

We loved Wyville house it was beautiful and all the beds and sofas were very comfortable. The house is well equipped with everything you could need. Little touches like the welcome food and the bath products in the bathrooms were lovely. We didn't expect TVs in every room which made our party of 9 very comfortable so nobody had to fight over the TV. The local pub is very handy, we ate there twice and the food was tasty and great value. The garden is huge. We did struggle with the water temperature in one of the showers and couldn't work out how to get the jacuzzi bath to bubble but this was the only negative.

Beautiful house in a great location. Spacious, light and super clean, this was a perfect location for our family of 8. The welcome pack on arrival was much appreciated and we quickly settled in to our lovely home for the week. We had issues with connecting to the WiFi but on contacting the owner, someone was quickly sent over to help us. The only thing missing was a guide on bins recycling vs general and other information such as how to use the oven etc. However, there was a handy file on local places to visit which was helpful. We continued to have some issues with the WiFi but the family games provided were a great distraction for the teenagers in our group so it worked out well! Beds were comfy, garden was spacious with a summerhousegames room that the kids made full use of and a great view from the large window in the living room. We all enjoyed the house immensely and would highly recommend staying here and the pub at the end of the drive was very handy! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Perfect relaxing getaway which we were all ready for. Hamper was a lovely touch and most welcome. Lots of space inside and out. Sofas a little low for someone with hip and knee problems but very comfortable. No guidance re bin collection, keys for bifold doors, how things work. It would have been useful. We found the keys to the bifold doors on Wednesday before we came home Friday

The house is perfect and has everything you need for a family holiday. The only issue was the wifi ! Which we were unable to connect to. We were grateful for the prompt response and visit to repair one of the tv connections. We will definitely be recommending this to anyone else looking for a large property

Lovely property for 6 family adults. Spotless on arrival. Very comfy and fully equipped kitchen, although didnt use much as we ate out every day. Bonus having 3 bathrooms especially one on ground floor for one of our party with mobility issues. Lovely garden. Would book again if in area. Central for plenty of places to visit. Thank you.

The house was lovely and there was plenty of room, even a games room in the garden. The kitchen was very well equipped with all the crockerycutlery cooking implements you could possibly need. There were TVs in nearly every room. There were two sitting rooms, both very comfortable, lots of cushions in the smaller one for making dens. I had enquired from Sykes Cottages about highchair and travel cot, to be told they werent available but they were actually provided that would have been good to know as they take up a lot of space in the car. There were a couple of minor issues which we left a note about upstairs shower tray not draining properly and same ensuite door sticking. There were workmen next door who started around 8am so that was slightly irritating to anyone having a liein. We had a baby and toddler in the party so most of us were up by then. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay and we knew the owners were next door if there had been a problem. We would definitely like to go back there again.

The house was beautifully furnished and had all facilities we could have wished for. The only thing I would criticise was that my husband couldnt use any of the furniture due to his mobility so an ordinary armchair would have been useful. He sat in his wheelchair. The house was very clean and spacious and had a welcome pack which was very useful .We would go back there again so near to beaches and amenities thank you to owners

The house is lovely. Spacious and comfortable. Large pleasant garden with access to cute little summer house. Handy pub next door. Close to Cayton Bay and other attractions. We had some plumbing issues which the owner did try to sort out. The only other negative was that the garden is overlooked by next door and there is building work taking place. This was noisy at times which meant that we didn't sit out as much as we might have done. Overall though, a pleasant stay .

Stunning house in a quiet location, despite being next to a pub. House had all we needed and more, there was so much to do in the area. We would have loved to stay longer. Only improvement could have been some more information in the house on arrival, ie what bins to use for recycling ect.

We found a runner on the stairs would be useful for safety reasons, especially when wearing socks. Quite slippy, and not safe for the elderly, or small children. The water pressure in the bath and sink taps is very low, and it takes an awful long time to fill the bath. The shower in the upstairs bathroom would benefit from a shower door, as water soaks the floor by the toilet, when in use. The plug hole in the master bedroom shower needs unblocking, as the water does not drain away well, and fills the shower tray, to the point of overflowing. The basin in this ensuite is far too small, even to wash your hands, and water is splashed on the floor. No soap dish in the ensuite shower for people who like to use their own specific soap, and no shelf to put flannels etc. on. Non slip mats in all showers and bath would be useful, as we slipped in the showers more than once, when soapy water was on the shower tray floors. Also we had a very small child in our party, who again, found it very dangerous without a non slip bath mat to sit on. The step out to the patio from the bifold doors is very steep, and makes it difficult to get in and out for people with mobility issues, and for small children, who, if they accidentally fell out, could seriously injure themselves on the concrete patio floor.Maybe some large steps, or a small ramp would be a good idea. A door mat inside these doors would also be useful, as you are coming straight in from outside, onto the nice living room carpet. The taps in the kitchen could do with replacing, as they are quite rickety. Two light bulbs in the main living room chandeliers need replacing, and the fireplace does not work at all, and one or two days during our stay, it would have been nice to have had some warmth, as the weather was quite chilly at times. We therefore had to put the main heating on instead,which we thought was a bit excessive.

Lovely cottage and garden great for multiple family use. In a quiet location, its a great base for scarborough and surrounding areas. Plenty of space for all, great for relaxing and entertaining. Lovely touch of the welcome hamper and fridge items, much appreciated. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Property met most of our requirements, was well equipped, clean & comfortable. My only slight issue was the access from the property to the extensive gardens. From each of the patio doors narrow wooden steps were the only way to get into the area. These were a struggle for my elderly father to negotiate. Wider steps would solve the issue. The property is accessed via a road that is labelled as a public footpath adjacent to the pub. This information would have been useful in the directions to the property.

The accommodation was beautiful, extremely spacious, fully equipped and an ideal location. As we arrived late in the evening, a Welcome Pack was greatly appreciated! We have already booked the home for next year and look forward to another super holiday!

4 adults and 4 kids had a great stay here. A lovely house with a big garden made a great base to explore the North Yorks coast. Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, York... all in easy reach and made for some great days out in the town and beach. The house was spacious and well kitted out. We had a few technical issues, but the owner who lives next door was able to get all the little problems fixed very quickly.

The rooms and gardens are spacious and peaceful and the location is ideal for Cayton Bay Beach and to tour the surrounding area. The nearby Pub is well stocked and welcoming with indoor and outdoor seating. Having the owners a stones throw away is a bonus.
