Upon arrival, the view did not disappoint. All of the front windows face out to sea, providing lovely views, and the house benefits from some lovely large windows. The property was easy to find, and the key collection instructions were straightforward. On entering, the property was clean and tidy. All areas of the house were adequate and generally well equipped, and the new bathroom was particularly nice. However, there were a number of issues that unfortunately affected our stay. The house next door is undergoing extensive renovations, with work starting at around 8am and continuing until approximately 6.30pm. There was a considerable amount of hammering, angle grinding, sawing, shouting and general building noise throughout the day. During our stay, the neighbouring property also began constructing a very large shed, which we understand is intended as a beergettogether area for the new owners. Unfortunately, the structure has been built considerably higher than the original fence and stands out quite noticeably. It also affected the television reception at the holiday property, meaning we were unable to receive live TV. It appears that the aerial may need to be repositioned to avoid the new structure. There were also no blinds at the windows. Although some of the windows are frosted, with workmen carrying out renovations next door, blinds would have provided muchneeded privacy. Blinds at the kitchen windows would also have been beneficial. The sofas are also in need of replacement, particularly one which appears to have been quite badly scratched by a dog at some point. The property would also benefit from some redecoration, as there were areas of patchy paintwork and missing skirting boards. Addressing these relatively small cosmetic issues would make a considerable difference to the overall appearance and feel of the property. Due to the continual noise from next door and the lack of TV we decided to leave early. We did message the owner about these issues but received no acknowledgement of the messages or a reply very disappointing Overall, the property itself was clean and well located, with the sea views being a real highlight. However, we were extremely disappointed by the constant building work next door, with loud noise continuing throughout the day, every day of our stay. The presence of workmen looking over the fence and into the property also made us feel that we had very little privacy. Alongside the lack of window blinds, television reception problems, and some tired furnishings and decoration, these issues unfortunately detracted significantly from what could otherwise have been a very enjoyable stay. I would advise anyone who has a booking to look into the noise and building issues before they stay if we had been informed which we should have been we would have changed our venue

Disappointed with the property. Not well maintained at all. Loads of rubbish left in the garden and it was not secure as the gate blew open. Bins were completely overflowing, including vacuum dust. Not surprising as there was no information on when to put them out. No welcome pack. Windows drilled shut or wouldnt shut. Broken toilet brush. Cobwebs and dirt on kitchen counters and in living room. Sofa smelt of urine, one was all cracked and peeling. Not suitable if you have poor mobility as the beds are very low. Also the bath is a slip hazard, very high and you have to shower in front of a window for all the neighbours to see!! Ive stayed in lots of houses, but was very disappointed with the number of issues and clear neglect at this property, especially for the money paid. Not good enough.

The house was huge with a drive that can fit several cars, a large bay window with a great view and a hot tub on the back. The beach is a fifteen minute walk and the views a great. The back garden is large with plenty of space for the kids or bbqs. The living room and kitchen are spacious with plenty of tables to eat at and seats. The bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of space and the bathroom was great. Would highly recommend

What a beautiful property this is. It is in a fantastic location with such amazing views of the sea. Very clean and spacious an ideal getaway for larger families. The hot tub was bubbling away ready for you to relax in. Bus stop virtually on door step and you can walk your furry friend just across the road. A big Thank you from us to the owners for making our holiday a joyful one.

Its a great house in a great location. Plenty of space and secure garden for dogs. Lots of parking space. A few little things that could be better. The double beds are very low, which is a problem if you have a bad back! The kitchen cupboard doors are hung so that they open in a really frustrating way emptying the dishwasher was very tricky!. The scissors were blunt. There wasnt really anywhere that we could all sit together to eat had to be some at the table and some at the breakfast bar. The coffee machine didnt work after wed spent 20 on the right pods!. The heating seemed to stay on at night, which made it really warm, and the blinds didnt stop the lovely sunshine over the sea from waking us up at dawn! But these are just little things. Generally, it was a great place to stay.

There were cobwebs on the walls. There is no information pack. There are every few kitchen utensils. The beds are terribly low which is difficult when you are over 6ft. Although they are very comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom is clean and has everything you need. We didnt use the hot tub. The views are amazing and sitting in the living room watching the world go by was great.

Fantastic property , very spacious, the garden is great for the dogs they cant escape , you can walk to Cayton bay down some very steep steps down the Nation trust route , or theres a better way if you continue on the closed road route , back to property theres a hot tub all set up waiting for you to use if you want to , with some great views of the North Sea from the front bedroom windows , recommend taking some binoculars to do some ship spotting etc , down side is only one bathroom for the size of the property versus if there was 6 to 8 people staying , there was only 2 of us and dogs so was fine , also at night the garden was very dark for dogs , I did see some outside lights at back but they wasnt working and I couldnt see a switch , I found the switch for Front of house lights , also could of done with a few books and board games to do when you was board and when the Yorkshire weather isnt up to scratch etc , I did look at next year but it did look pricey, maybe Im a tight Yorkshire man or due to the Yorkshire Moors fires etc we got a discount price at 749 for for nights Saturday to Wednesday in early September , but if a couple of families come and both pay then its value , but only one Bathroom again will be tight for two families, , plus side also off street parking plenty of space for 3 cars etc , Thankyou I really enjoyed this place , great for the lungs , also a message to the owner, the king size beds are very low on the floor if they was normal height you maybe would be able to see out of window from bed better and will be better for peoples backs , bathroom too could do with a blind if your in shower , I know the glass is obscured, but you do feel like your doing the Tales of the unexpected intro , only certain age groups will get that one

Excellent house with great views loved it

Scruffy property. No instructionswelcome information. Hot tub switched off and cold no instructions. Gardens not tended or lawns cut, fence down, bits of wood just laid around, told to allow dog to just go into the adjoining garden. Bathroom unsafe with switch above sink and open wiring. Poorly decorated doors just undercoated. Cobwebs on walls & furniture. Oven is dangerous as when door open it blocks off exit from kitchen area with barely any room to pass. Complained a week ago... apparently waiting for response from owner... Sykes passing the book???

We stayed at the property for a week and we had a really enjoyable stay. The house is very modern and comfortable. You can walk to Cayton Bay in a short time and enjoy the beach and wonderful views of the coastline. The number 7 bus runs a very frequent service from outside the property's door bus stop opposite house in to Scarborough town centre or it is about 45 minutes walk via the south cliff gardens past the spa in to town. Lovely location. Will miss seeing the sea out of the windows every day. A washing line would be a good addition.

We had a wonderful stay here! The house is lovely and spacious, and has all the things you need including a hot tub! The garden is a lovely size enough room for the children to play. Cayton bay is about a 25 min walk or short drive and is a wonderful beach we had many lovely days there. I would highly recommend worked perfectly for us as a family of 5, with a teen, 9 year old and pre schooler!
